I still support the top 40 XML
So look.. I originally did all the feeds that I could from the BBC site but there seems to be a bit of "heat" at the moment surrounding this and Im not up for any sort of legal challange etc.. I did this primarily for the backstage project (which got listed so it couldnt of been too bad) but alas I dont have resource should anyone come knocking..
I would LOVE to keep them going (the process was 100% automated and disk space is not an issue) but Ben's posts RE weather xml via the BBC website has caused a bit of a thing and I dont want to a) add to it or b) become any sort of focus.
If anyone wants the source then im happy to send it.
What I would say, and I think this is important, the Met Office (who I have worked for so I can say this) need to bring themselves into the internet age. The same tired weather map still exists on the site from when I worked there (circa 2001). They refuse to embrace and as a result we are left trying to get data from other sources OR from the BBCs site, either way it isnt ideal..
The Met Office is littered with data and pushing it out to the public would be (I think) a monumental leap for them and I think ultimately extremely good for them, alas they and there "innovation team" dont see it..:(
